The brand

The mark is the same one — the contours, the rounded A, the notch at the foot. What has been redrawn is the geometry, the colour and the type around it.

The symbol

Three contours, one shape.

The old mark was drawn as three separate lines. The new one has one parent curve; the inner contours are true parallel offsets of it.

The difference is invisible at 190 pixels, but it shows at 18: the lines hold the same distance the whole way round, including through the notch, where the old mark collapsed into a dark wedge. The apex is also a broad arc rather than a point — with a point the eye reads a heart, not an A.

Sizes

The mark has to hold down to 16 pixels

A healthcare brand lives in browser tabs, app icons and appointment letters. If the motif fills in at small sizes, it is not finished.

Symbol and wordmark

Aleris

Horizontal — web, letterhead, signage.

AlerisGroup

With a qualifier — group, country or unit.

Symbol alone — app icon, favicon, avatar.

Clear space around the mark equals the width of the notch. The wordmark is set in Jost 400 at normal tracking — the old wordmark’s tighter tracking let the l and the e grow together at small sizes.

Typography

Newsreader and Jost

Specialist care
for a better tomorrow

Newsreader — headings, body copy and figures. A serif with an optical size axis: the same face sits correctly at 17 pixels and at 88.

Becoming a patient

Jost — navigation, labels, buttons and data. A geometric sans that carries wide-tracked capitals without turning heavy.

Colour

One accent, used sparingly

The brass is not a decorative colour. It appears on the hairlines, the icons, the links and the primary button — nowhere else. Everything else is ink on bone.

⚠️ The three brass tones are not interchangeable. #A3813F does not meet the contrast requirement for small text — it may only be used on graphics. Swapping them for one another breaks accessibility without it being visible.
