Scandinavia will have a third more people over eighty within fifteen years, and no more nurses than today. That is not a funding problem that can be solved with funding alone.
Our answer is narrow and deliberate: do planned care, do it often, and measure it publicly. Specialised volume is what produces both shorter waiting lists and better outcomes — and it is the one thing a focused provider can contribute that a general hospital cannot.
