Ophthalmology
Cataract, lens replacement, retinal disease and glaucoma. Eye care at recognised medical quality — and with an operating time that rarely exceeds twenty minutes.

You meet a specialist — not a queue.
Your first contact is an assessment with the doctor who will also treat you. We do not split investigation and treatment between different people, because it is in the join between them that information gets lost.
What ophthalmology at Aleris means
Cataract
The most common operation in Swedish healthcare, and the one we perform most. It is done under local anaesthetic, takes around fifteen minutes, and you go home the same day. Most people notice a clear difference the following morning.
Lens replacement and vision correction
For those who want to be free of glasses there is lens replacement with monofocal, toric or multifocal lenses. We always begin with a full examination — not every eye suits every lens, and we say so before you book.
Medical retina and glaucoma
Investigation and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and raised intraocular pressure, with injection therapy and follow-up according to national guidelines.
